Upcoming City Council Meeting: October 6, 2025
October 03, 2025

The evening will begin with a work session at 5:30 PM, located in the second-floor conference room of our Public Safety building at 2395 12 Mile. The topic of this meeting is reviewing updates to the Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) application received by The Columbia Berkley. Work sessions are open to the public, but not recorded or broadcast, and no formal decisions are made at these meetings.
At the regular meeting, City Council will consider designating Saturday, December 6, 2025, for the Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. This Berkley community tradition brings neighbors together to celebrate the season.
Council will also consider a Workforce Housing Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) for The Columbia development. This project would create 51 mixed-income residential units, helping to diversify housing choices in our community. The proposal includes public benefits such as infrastructure improvements, contributions to downtown enhancements, and annual Public Safety funding.
Additionally, Council will consider special land use approval for a pharmacy at 3462 Greenfield Road, which would bring convenient pharmacy services to that area. The Planning Commission has recommended approval.
Council will also vote on adopting an amended investment policy and authorizing the treasurer to apply for membership in the Michigan CLASS Investment Pool.
