Upcoming City Council Meeting: December 15, 2025

December 12, 2025

The next City Council meeting is Monday, December 15, at 7:00 PM. We're sharing a preview of the meeting, but you can view the full agenda and packet at berkleymi.gov/councilagendasminutes.

The evening will begin with a work session at 5:30 PM in the Public Safety Conference Room (2395 12 Mile). Council and staff will discuss updates to on-street parking signage. Work sessions are open to the public but are not broadcast or livestreamed, and no decisions are made in these types of meetings.

At the regular meeting, Council will review a draft of the 5-Year Parks and Recreation Master Plan from Johnson Hill Land Ethics Studio. This comprehensive plan will guide our parks and recreation priorities and investments through 2030.

Additionally, Council will consider a special land use request from Berkley Entertainment, LLC to operate a private assembly space/live theater at 2960 Twelve Mile Road in the Downtown District. The applicant is also seeking approval for a new on-premises development district liquor license to support the theater venue. The Planning Commission recently held a public hearing and recommended approval of both the special land use and site plan.

Council will also vote on several important policy updates, including an updated Overnight Parking Policy, various Zoning Ordinance amendments, a revised Purchasing Policy, and the 2026 City Council meeting schedule along with a tentative 2027 schedule. Additionally, Council will adopt a Resolution of the 41st City Council Rules and Order of Procedure.
