Upcoming City Council Meeting: August 18, 2025
August 15, 2025

The evening will begin with a work session at 5:30 PM, located in the second-floor conference room of our Public Safety building at 2395 12 Mile. The topic of this meeting is discussing Payments in Lieu of Required Parking, which allows municipalities to receive fees from developers to put toward funding public parking facilities, rather than the developer needing to meet a required number of parking spaces. Work sessions are open to the public, but not recorded or broadcast, and no formal decisions are made at these meetings.
At the regular meeting, City Council will receive presentations about the second quarter Strategic Framework accomplishments and the month-long closure of Dorothea Rd. for the Dorothea Pocket Park pilot earlier this summer. They will also vote to approve the grant-funded project to improve the Community Center restrooms and renovations to the concession stand at Community 1 from Allied Building Services, and to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement for the budgeted Parks & Recreation Master Plan update, upon final review of the City Attorney, with Johnson Hill Ethics Studio.
Finally, Council will vote to approve a resolution to set alternative meeting dates for the July and December Board of Review meetings, and to approve the Police Officer Labor Council Command tentative agreement.
