Hate Has No Home in Berkley

May 18, 2026

On May 16, 2026, the Berkley Department of Public Safety was notified that flyers with antisemitic language were distributed to lawns, sidewalks, and front aprons in the areas bounded by Coolidge to Woodward and 11 Mile to 12 Mile. While no threat of violence was received, the department is increasing patrols in the area to ensure our community’s safety.

This incident is currently under investigation as BDPS confers with local, county, and state prosecutors. Anyone with information to share should contact our Detective Bureau directly at 248-658-3390 or DB@berkleymi.gov.

BDPS is also asking residents with home security camera footage from the overnight period of May 15 through May 16 to consider sharing it with the department to aid the investigation. If you wish to share footage, please submit it at this link: https://bit.ly/4u197BL

Our focus at this time is on protecting everyone’s constitutional rights and enforcing local ordinances and state laws. The City of Berkley stands firmly against antisemitism and hate in all forms.
