What you need to know for the November 3rd Election

October 20, 2026

Hello Berkley voters! Here’s your voting rundown for the upcoming Election on Tuesday, November 3.

There are three ways you can let your voice be heard:

  • Absentee Voting - Receive a ballot in the mail and return it by 8pm on Election Day.
  • Early Voting - Voting sites open for 9 consecutive days ending on the Sunday before the election. You can vote in-person or place your absentee ballot into a tabulator.
  • Election Day Voting - Vote at your designated precinct polling location from 7am-8pm on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3).

Do I need to bring any documents with me to vote? No. Bringing one form of identification can help speed up your election process when voting in-person, but ID is not required. You can still vote by signing an affidavit on election day. Here is a link to a list of accepted ID types. You only need to bring documentation to provide proof of residence if you are registering to vote within 14 days of the election. Proof of Residence documents include a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or other government document containing your name and current address. You will never need to bring in anything like a social security card or birth certificate.

Voting Deadlines:

  • Last day to register to vote online or by mail - Monday, October 19
    • You can register to vote at the Clerk’s Office anytime before the election ends in-person with proof of residence. You CANNOT register to vote at polling locations.
  • Mailing in Absentee Ballots - recommended to have in the mail by Tuesday, October 20
    • Ballots mailed by then are more likely to arrive at the Clerk’s office by 8pm on Election Day. The fastest ways to make sure your ballot is received by the deadline is to place them in one of the secure drop boxes at City Hall (pictured below) or by inserting your ballot into a tabulator at an early voting site or your precinct’s polling location on election day.
  • Early Voting Sites Open - 8:30am on Saturday, October 24
  • Early Voting Sites Close - 4:30pm on Sunday, November 1
  • Election Day - 7am-8pm on Tuesday, November 3
  • Voting Closes at 8pm on Tuesday, November 3
    • If you are already in line to vote at a polling location you will still be allowed to vote
    • Absentee ballots received past this time (except for military and overseas voters) will not be counted
