Four City-Initiated Rezoning Efforts

Community Development Director Kristen Kapelanski gave first readings for four City-Initiated rezoning efforts. These included a reclassification of a Single Family Residential District on Franklin Rd, two Single Family Residential Districts on Eleven Mile being changed to Flex Districts, and a Parcel being added to the Parking Overlay District.

Lease Agreement for Municipal Parking on Three Parcels

Director Kapelanski also spoke about a lease agreement that is being pursued for three parking parcels. This is to create a shared municipal parking agreement near the Berkley Theater, while allowing the owners, Berkley First Methodist Church, to have some limited exclusive access to the lot for specific events and for select affiliated vehicle parking spots.
